Today, the Virginia National Organization for Women (VA NOW) – a leading women’s rights organization in Virginia – announced its endorsement of Emily Francis for State Senate in the 10th District. The 10th District includes portions of Richmond and Chesterfield County along with Powhatan County.

“Virginia NOW enthusiastically endorses Emily Francis – she is the next generation of Virginia leadership and a champion for equality and justice. We face big challenges – fair pay for women and good paying jobs for all, health care for the most vulnerable, a clean and safe environment, among them. Emily has the vision and passion we need in Richmond,” said Marj Signer, VA NOW PAC Co-Chair.

As a proven progressive, Emily Francis has built her career fighting for what’s right. For more than sixteen years, Emily has been a force for change through her career and service to our community. Her work with organizations across the country most recently has included the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Virginia League of Conservation Voters. Emily has spent the last eight years in and around public policy in Virginia, as such she has worked on both sides of the aisle, and knows what it takes to get things done at the Capitol. She currently advises non-profit organizations in Virginia to advance public policy solutions that are good for all Virginians.

Virginia NOW (Virginia chapter, National Organization for Women) is a statewide membership organization advocating for women’s rights and social justice for all people. The Virginia NOW Political Action Committee endorses candidates who support their core principles: increasing economic equality, ensuring women’s access to health care and safety, and expanding civil and human rights.
